Equipment Safety While your safety is paramount, the safety of the equipment from you is also of concern. Remember the following from the BeAM Safety Waiver and Release you have signed:  I agree I will not use any machines I haven’t been trained on nor will I aid another person in using a machine they have not been trained on. I understand the machines may seem simple and safe but that proper training is incredibly important.  I realize that by going through proper training, I will learn things that are not obvious, that will keep me safe and ensure the safety of others and the machines. I understand that failure to adhere to this policy will result in permanent suspension from BeaM. Electronics equipment and supplies at BeAM can be advanced and specialized. Improper use of this equipment and supplies can cause permanent damage.  Working with electronics can range from low-danger projects, such as building a simple LED circuit, to projects with components and specialized equipment that could seriously harm or result in death if misused. Make sure to follow these safety practices at all times: Keep your work area dry and clear. Don't work with metallic items on your hands or wrists. Wear closed toed shoes with a grounding (e.g. rubber) sole. Wear safety glasses when cutting electronics components.   Safety Information Do not use electronics equipment without knowing exactly what you are doing. How do I learn what I don't know? Great question. BeAM will provide resources that includes standard operating procedures for electronics equipment. This can give you context for what the tool is intended for and normal operations.
